독일, 미국, 영국 등 세계 각지의 전시에 참여하며 뛰어난 잠재력을 일찍이 인정받은 글로벌 아티스트이다. 그는 2003년 미국 코닝사 주관으로 세계 신진 유리 작가 100인에 선정되었으며, 같은 해 세계적인 미국 유리 작가 데일 치훌리가 설립한 Pilchuck Glass School에서 장학금을 받고 워크숍에 참여하였다. 뉴욕의 Carlson Glass Works에서 수석 유리 디자이너로 스카우트되어 9년간 근무한 그는 이후 한국, 미국, 영국에서 수차례에 걸쳐 개인전과 단체전에 초대되었다.

10여 년에 이르는 미국과 영국 등 타국체류 시절은, 급변하는 사회 속에서 한국 미술의 역사를 되짚어보며 시각적 언어로 표현하는 모티브가 되었고, 작가의 정체성과 자아에 대한 고찰로 이어졌다. 작가는 거친 질감의 황목 천 위에 실제 물방울과 가장 흡사한 소재인 유리를 사용하여 투명하고 강하면서도 연약한 유리의 이중적 속성을 자신만의 언어로 풀어낸다.

그의 작품 속 유리 물방울은 변치 않는 영롱함을 간직하고 있으면서도, 빛의 변화에 따라 물방울 그림자의 모습이 시시각각으로 달라지는 매력을 품고 있다. 작가에게 있어서 황목 캔버스는 과거를 의미하며 색과 유리는 현재와 미래의 작가 자신의 감정과 감성을 표현한 것이다. 작가는 한국을 대표하는 단청과 오방색을 바탕으로 선과 면, 입체의 조화와 모든 구도의 기본인 수직, 수평을 작품 속에 추상적으로 발현한다. 그의 작품은 가나아트센터, 유한양행, 갤러리 박영을 비롯하여, 체코 프라하 갤러리, 미국 글로벌 아트 에비뉴 갤러리 등에 소장되어 있다.

Recognized early on for his outstanding potential, the artist is a global practitioner who has participated in exhibitions across Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other parts of the world. In 2003, he was selected as one of the Top 100 Emerging Glass Artists Worldwide by Corning Incorporated in the United States. That same year, he received a scholarship to attend a workshop at the Pilchuck Glass School, founded by renowned American glass artist Dale Chihuly. Subsequently, he was scouted as a lead glass designer by Carlson Glass Works in New York, where he worked for nine years. Since then, he has been invited to numerous solo and group exhibitions in Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The more than decade-long period he spent living abroad in countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom became a crucial foundation for revisiting the history of Korean art within a rapidly changing society, translating these reflections into a distinctive visual language. This experience ultimately led to a deeper exploration of artistic identity and selfhood. The artist works with glass—the material that most closely resembles real water droplets—on coarse-textured hwangmok fabric, articulating the dual nature of glass: transparent and strong, yet simultaneously fragile. The glass droplets in his works retain a timeless brilliance, while their shadows shift continuously with changes in light, creating a dynamic and captivating presence.

For the artist, the hwangmok canvas symbolizes the past, while color and glass express his present emotions and sensibilities, extending toward the future. Drawing from Korea’s traditional dancheong patterns and the obangsaek (five cardinal colors), he abstractly manifests harmony among line, plane, and volume, as well as the fundamental compositional principles of verticality and horizontality. His works are held in prominent collections, including Gana Art Center, Yuhan Corporation, and Gallery Bakyoung, as well as galleries in Prague, Czech Republic, and the Global Art Avenue Gallery in the United States.
