Pace Gallery presents “Ceramic Works,” a solo exhibition by Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, at its Seoul gallery from Sep 5 – Oct 21, 2023. Marking the artist's first solo exhibition in Korea since 2005, the presentation features approximately 140 ceramic works, 30 drawings on paper and cardboard, and selected objects from his personal collection. Created primarily during his residency in Shigaraki, Japan, the ceramics explore expressive forms, textures, hand-painted faces, and written messages that convey a range of emotions. Displayed alongside drawings on custom wooden tables, shelves, and cabinets, the works offer an intimate glimpse into Nara's creative process and his exploration of different artistic mediums.
