The solo exhibition “Robot Taekwon V” by Charles Jang is presented at Gallery Toast from Dec 7 – Dec 30, 2012. Marking the artist's sixth solo exhibition, the show features approximately 20 works inspired by Robot Taekwon V, an iconic Korean animated hero beloved by generations who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s. Known for reinterpreting popular culture through expressive drawings and vibrant colors, the artist brings the nostalgic character to life with bold compositions and striking hues reminiscent of traditional Korean dancheong patterns. Through energetic visual expressions, his paintings evoke childhood dreams, memories, and the enduring spirit of hope, inviting viewers to reconnect with the heroes and imagination of their youth.
