The solo exhibition “Spring Spring” by Byun Sang-tae is presented at Gallery Eun in Seoul from May 7 – May 12, 2025. Exploring the relationship between everyday objects, human expression, and the passage of time, the artist reinterprets traditional Korean farming tools as symbolic representations of ordinary people's lives. Inspired by the weathered forms of a traditional digging tool known as garae, he discovers human-like faces and expressions shaped by years of labor and use. Through personification, playful metaphors, and expressive colors inspired by Korean traditional art, the works transform objects marked by hardship into poetic reflections on dignity, resilience, and the enduring value of human life.

변상태 개인전 《봄봄》은 서울 인사동 갤러리은에서 2025년 5월 7일부터 5월 12일까지 진행된다. 이번 전시는 오래된 생활 도구에 축적된 시간과 노동의 흔적을 인간의 표정과 삶에 빗대어 재해석한 작품들을 선보인다. 작가는 전통 농기구인 가래의 낡고 마모된 형태에서 고단한 삶을 살아온 평범한 사람들의 얼굴을 발견하고, 그 안에 담긴 인내와 희로애락을 조형적 언어로 풀어낸다. 한국 전통 꽃상여의 꼭두에서 영감을 얻은 색채와 은유적 표현을 통해 무표정한 사물에 새로운 생명과 감정을 부여하며, 오랜 세월 묵묵히 살아온 이들의 존엄성과 인간적 가치를 되새긴다. 작품은 고단한 삶의 흔적을 따뜻한 봄날의 풍경으로 전환하며 위로와 희망의 메시지를 전한다.
