The solo exhibition “더하고 더하기” by Heo Wook is presented at Nampo Art Museum from Sep 4 – Oct 1, 2026. Centered on the concept of “Cheomcheom (添添),” meaning continuous addition, the exhibition explores the artist's distinctive visual language developed over more than three decades. Beginning with the discovery of boundaries formed where surfaces meet, Heo creates lines that divide, dismantle, reconnect, and transform structures. Through an ongoing process of addition, subtraction, and variation, his works move fluidly between painting, objects, and architectural space. Rather than defining fixed boundaries, the artist embraces the idea of the “Open Line,” revealing new relationships between materials, the body, and space while expanding the possibilities of contemporary painting.

허욱 개인전 《더하고 더하기》는 남포미술관에서 2026년 9월 4일부터 10월 1일까지 진행된다. 이번 전시는 '계속 더하고 더한다'는 의미의 〈첨첨(添添)〉을 중심으로, 30여 년간 회화와 오브제, 건축의 경계를 넘나들며 발전시켜 온 작가의 독창적인 조형 세계를 조명한다. 작가는 면과 면이 만나는 지점에서 발견한 경계선을 출발점으로, 선을 긋고 화면을 분할하며 해체와 결합을 반복하는 과정을 통해 새로운 구조와 형상을 만들어 낸다. 더하고 덜하며 변주하는 행위는 평면의 회화를 입체적인 오브제로, 나아가 건축적 공간으로 확장시킨다. 특히 공간을 구분하는 대신 새로운 관계와 가능성을 생성하는 '열린 선(Open Line)'의 개념을 통해 완성된 결과보다 끊임없는 생성과 변화의 과정에 주목하며, 회화의 영역과 표현 가능성을 확장하는 예술적 실천을 선보인다.
