“An Unexpected Journey into Space,” an exhibition by Park Hyun Woong, is presented at Space UM in Seoul from Jun 10 – Jun 27, 2026. 박현웅 작가의 《어쩌다 우주여행》은 2026년 6월 10일부터 27일까지 서울 스페이스 엄에서 열린다. 이번 전시는 작가의 대표 캐릭터 BB가 지구를 벗어나 우주로 향하는 새로운 모험을 담아낸다. 오랫동안 여행의 기억과 일상의 공상을 자작나무 부조 작품으로 표현해 온 작가는 이번 전시에서 직접 집필한 동명의 SF 소설을 바탕으로 약 40점의 작품을 선보인다. 우주복을 입은 BB를 비롯해 다양한 형태의 우주탐사선과 기묘한 행성, UFO, 외계인, 로봇 친구 Rovy 등이 등장하며 작가 특유의 상상력 넘치는 세계관을 확장한다. 자작나무를 직접 깎고 채색해 조립한 정교한 입체 구조는 우주선과 행성의 복잡한 내부를 생동감 있게 구현하고, 이전보다 깊어진 색채와 무게감 있는 화면 구성은 새로운 조형적 시도를 보여준다. 어린 시절 로봇 만화영화에 열광했던 기억에서 출발한 이번 작업은 단순한 소설의 삽화를 넘어 글과 그림이 서로의 표현 영역을 확장하는 장기 프로젝트의 시작을 알린다. 동심과 순수함을 바탕으로 기발한 유머와 독창적인 우주 미학을 더한 이번 전시는 관람객을 무한한 상상의 세계로 초대한다.
