“Veer Off Course!,” a solo exhibition by Lee Kyunghoon, is presented at Gallery Collast in Seoul from Mar 23 – Apr 6, 2024. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and close observations of everyday objects, the exhibition explores the relationship between the self and time beyond the conventions imposed by society. Lee places familiar objects in unexpected settings, creating visual contradictions that evoke the surrealist technique of dépaysement and encourage viewers to reconsider their habitual ways of seeing. Through compositions that bring together seemingly unrelated objects and spaces, the artist transforms ordinary scenes into moments of visual irony and reflection. Rather than following the predetermined rhythms of social life, the exhibition invites viewers to step outside their daily routines, revisit overlooked memories, and contemplate the passage of time at their own pace. In doing so, “Veer Off Course!” opens a space for reflection on how we perceive the world and choose to live in the present.

이경훈 개인전 《Veer Off Course! (항로의 이탈)》은 2024년 3월 23일부터 4월 6일까지 서울 콜라스트 성수에서 열린다. 이번 전시는 사회와 시간의 관계 속에서 형성된 관습적인 경계에서 벗어나 개인이 경험하는 고유한 시간과 시선에 주목한다. 작가는 지나온 시간에서 얻은 영감과 일상 속 사물에 대한 섬세한 관찰을 바탕으로 익숙한 대상을 낯선 공간에 배치하며 새로운 시각적 경험을 만들어낸다. 서로 다른 사물과 장소가 하나의 화면에 공존하는 모순적인 구성은 초현실주의의 데페이즈망 기법을 연상시키며, 관람객에게 익숙한 풍경을 새롭게 인식하도록 이끈다. 이러한 시각적 아이러니는 사물의 본래 쓰임과 의미를 넘어 우리가 세계를 바라보는 방식에 질문을 던진다. 이번 전시는 일상의 반복적인 흐름에서 잠시 벗어나 자신만의 속도로 지나온 순간들을 되돌아보고, 현재를 살아가는 태도와 시간의 의미를 다시 생각하는 기회를 제안한다.
