“Garden Blue,” an invitational solo exhibition by Kim Sun Hyung, is presented at Lotte Department Store's Avenuel Main Store in Seoul from Jun 16 – Aug 17, 2020. Featuring approximately 20 works, including nine new pieces, the exhibition explores the vitality of nature through vibrant shades of blue and expressive brushwork. In his signature Garden Blue series, Kim creates imaginative gardens filled with flowers, grasses, birds, and other natural forms, transforming familiar landscapes into spaces for reflection and contemplation. Combining traditional Korean painting materials with contemporary techniques, the artist allows pigments to spread freely across cotton and paper surfaces, capturing the spontaneous energy of the natural world. Through richly layered blue tones and dynamic compositions, the exhibition invites viewers to reconnect with nature and discover moments of tranquility and emotional renewal amid urban life.

김선형 초대전 《Garden Blue》는 2020년 6월 16일부터 8월 17일까지 서울 롯데백화점 본점 에비뉴엘에서 열린다. 이번 전시는 푸른색과 자유로운 필획으로 자연의 생명력과 기운을 표현하는 작가의 대표 연작을 중심으로 신작 9점을 포함한 약 20점의 작품을 선보인다. 김선형은 정원을 자연의 축소된 풍경이자 사유와 안식의 공간으로 바라보며, 꽃과 풀, 새 등 자연 속 생명들을 다채로운 푸른 색조로 표현한다. 전통 동양화의 재료인 석채와 아크릴 물감을 활용하고 면과 한지 위에 물을 뿌려 안료가 자연스럽게 번지도록 하는 독창적인 기법은 화면에 생동감과 자유로운 리듬을 부여한다. 특히 에비뉴엘 1층에 설치된 대형 작품을 비롯해 각 층에 펼쳐진 푸른 정원의 풍경은 도심 속에서 자연의 아름다움을 경험하게 하며, 관람객에게 마음의 휴식과 위로를 전한다.
