THE TRINITY GALLERY presents the duo exhibition “Overlap: They overlap each other” featuring Heo Wook and Cho Na-ra from Oct 5 – Nov 2, 2018. The exhibition explores eroticism—an enduring subject in art history—through the shared working method of “overlapping,” while each artist develops a distinct formal approach. Heo Wook presents 13 nude works from his Cheomcheom (添添) practice, building images by layering individually cut canvas pieces. Cho Na-ra presents 10 works from the Anomalisa series, constructing erotic male-and-female figures through needlework in which crossing and overlapping colored threads evoke intimacy and exchange.

THE TRINITY GALLERY는 허욱, 조나라 작가의 2인전 《겹침: They overlap each other》전을 2018년 10월 5일부터 11월 2일까지 진행된다. 이번 전시는 예술의 범주 안에서 지속적으로 다뤄져 온 에로티시즘을 ‘겹침’이라는 작업 방식으로 풀어내며, 두 작가가 각자 다른 조형적 전개를 모색하는 자리이다. 허욱은 도려낸 캔버스를 겹쳐 쌓아 올려 하나의 이미지를 만들어내는 첨첨(添添) 작업의 누드 연작 13점을 선보이고, 조나라는 실과 바늘의 연속된 드나듦 속에서 교차되고 겹쳐지는 색실로 교감하는 남녀의 형상을 만들어내는 Anomalisa 남녀 시리즈 10점을 소개한다.
