a piece a peace presents “Empreinte: The Multilayered Accumulation of Aimless Traces,” a solo exhibition by Jae Hyeok Ryu, on view from May 5 – May 31, 2025. The exhibition begins with accidental marks born from the interaction of materials such as paint, salt, charcoal, ice, and iron powder. Minimizing intentional intervention, the artist follows natural processes and the passage of time—liquids pool and dry, ice melts, pigments bleed and resist—leaving traces layered with motion and duration. Painting extends beyond the flat plane into the physical, vertical space of the room, shifting with the viewer’s position and movement as perception layers over trace.
류재혁 개인전 《Empreinte: 무목적한 흔적의 다층적 누적》은 어피스어피스에서 2025년 5월 5일부터 5월 31일까지 개최된다. 이번 전시는 물감, 소금, 숯, 얼음, 철가루 등 다양한 재료가 서로 반응하고 충돌하며 남기는 우연한 자취에서 출발한다. 작가는 작업 과정에서 인위적 개입을 최소화하고 자연스럽게 발생하는 변화와 시간의 흐름을 따른다. 액체가 고이고 마르며, 얼음이 녹고, 물감이 번지고 마르는 동안 재료들은 각자의 속도로 겹쳐지고 스며들고 밀려나며 예측할 수 없는 흔적을 남긴다. 그 결과 회화는 평면에 머물지 않고 공간 속 수직적이고 물리적인 레이어로 확장되며, 관객의 시선과 움직임에 따라 매순간 새롭게 구성된다.
