White Cube presents an exhibition highlighting the final body of work by Park Seo-Bo, a master of Dansaekhwa. Centered on the Newspaper Écriture series completed toward the end of the artist’s life, the exhibition traces the trajectory of his lifelong artistic inquiry and disciplined practice.

Executed through repetitive gestures inscribed onto newspapers—documents of time themselves—these works function both as paintings and as diaristic records of the act of creation. Deeply informed by Daoist and Buddhist philosophies, Park’s practice consistently sought to erase emotional expression in pursuit of emptiness and restraint.

Presented alongside the Black and White Écriture works from the 1990s, the exhibition examines how Park’s painterly language—shaped through material, gesture, repetition, and discipline—expanded into a philosophy of life.
