“나의 그림들은 어릴 적 담벼락에 그렸던 낙서의 연장이며 내가 꿈꾸고 살아가는 모습의 그림일기이다.” 그의 작품에 극사실화로 묘사된 동물들은 메타포로, 현실 속에서 마주하는 삶과 나아가야 할 이상향을 동시에 은유한다. 초현실과 극사실을 넘나드는 송형노의 작품은 꿈과 가족, 현대를 살아가는 상황과 이상향을 은유적인 화법으로 풀어간다.

그의 그림에 등장하는 인공적인 석벽은 현재 상황과 현실을, 석벽 위에 홀로 있는 동물은 꿈을 잊지 않고 담장 너머로 꿈과 소망을 바라보며 이루어 나가는 행복을 의미한다. 돼지는 골격 구조상 벽에 기대지 않으면 하늘을 볼 수 없기 때문에 늘 담벼락에 기대어 하늘을 바라보며 꿈을 그린다.

작가가 늘 이야기하는 ‘사랑’과 ‘행복’은 살아가는 데 있어서 가장 소중한 가치이며, 특히나 가족을 향한 사랑은 송형노 작가를 움직이게 하는 원동력이자 기쁨이다. 작가는 동아대 예술대학 회화과 졸업후, 홍익대학교 회화과 대학원을 졸업하고 홍콩, 밀라노, 런던, 프랑스, 미국, 베이징 등 다수의 국가에서 아트페어와 전시에 300여 회 이상 참여하였고, 홍콩과 서울에서 17회의 개인전을 개최했다. 작가의 작품은 대림미술관, 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 홍콩기업사옥 등에 소장되어 있다.

“My paintings are an extension of the drawings I scribbled on walls as a child, a visual diary of the life I dream of and live.” The animals depicted in Song Hyeong No’s works with hyperrealistic precision function as metaphors, simultaneously alluding to the realities of life we face and the ideals toward which we aspire. Moving fluidly between surrealism and hyperrealism, his paintings unfold themes of dreams, family, contemporary existence, and idealized worlds through a poetic and symbolic visual language.

The artificial stone walls that frequently appear in his works represent the present condition and reality, while the solitary animals perched upon them embody the act of holding onto one’s dreams—gazing beyond the wall toward hope, aspiration, and the pursuit of happiness. Pigs, in particular, recur as a meaningful motif: due to their skeletal structure, they must lean against a wall in order to look up at the sky. Thus, they eternally rest against stone barriers, imagining dreams above them.

The concepts of “love” and “happiness,” which the artist consistently emphasizes, are presented as the most essential values in life. Above all, love for family serves as both the driving force and the source of joy in Song Hyeong No’s artistic practice. Song Hyeong No graduated from the Department of Painting at the College of Arts, Dong-A University, and later completed a master’s degree in Painting at Hongik University. He has participated in over 300 art fairs and exhibitions across numerous countries, including Hong Kong, Milan, London, France, the United States, and Beijing, and has held 17 solo exhibitions in Hong Kong and Seoul. His works are included in the collections of the Daelim Museum, the Art Bank of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, as well as corporate collections in Hong Kong.
