Shim Bong Min graduated from the Department of Oriental Paintinh at Hongik University and creates works that are delicate, emotional, and warmly affectionate. He believes that happiness and the sense of something special in life begin with cherishing ordinary things. Perhaps for this reason, houses, trees, and everyday landscapes commonly encountered in daily life appear as central motifs in his work.

By realizing that life is filled with countless ordinary moments encountered from birth through upbringing, he portrays the lives of people who live seemingly simple, everyday lives. Through modest rural scenery and old gardens, his works evoke the warmth of forgotten childhood memories. They invite viewers to encounter soft, tender moments of recollection drawn from their own inner storehouses of memory.

Through his art, Shim Bong Min hopes to offer strength in the journey toward warm daily life and happiness, while paying tribute to the comforting and quietly extraordinary ordinariness that surrounds us.
