서안나 작가는 2019년 브뤼셀 아트페어 참가를 시작으로 스페인을 거쳐 현재 서울을 기반으로 활발히 활동하고 있다. 화단 입성 초기에는 추상화를 선보였으나, ‘진짜로 존재하는 것들’을 그리기로 마음먹은 이후 일상에서 마주하는 평온한 순간들을 꾸준히 화면에 담아왔다.

그녀는 주로 반려동물을 소재로 작업한다. 함께 살고 있는 강아지와 고양이, 그리고 저녁 산책길에서 만나는 길고양이들은 작가의 일상에서 큰 부분을 차지하며, 위로가 되어주는 동반자들이다. 소파에 누워 있는 강아지나 식탁 위에 올라간 고양이처럼, 동물 친구들과 함께하는 다정한 순간들을 캔버스 위에 옮긴다.

물감을 얇게 여러 번 겹쳐 올리는 방식으로 작가 특유의 따뜻한 톤과 정서를 만들어내며, 평범한 일상을 위트 있는 시선으로 포착한다. 이러한 작업은 인간과 동물 사이의 친밀한 관계를 자연스럽게 돌아보게 하며, 최근에는 젊은 컬렉터들의 큰 관심을 받으며 ‘MZ세대 대표 작가’로 주목받고 있다.

Seo Anna began her career with participation in the Brussels Art Fair in 2019 and has since worked across Spain before establishing her base in Seoul. Although she initially presented abstract paintings, she decided to focus on depicting “things that truly exist,” and has since continued to capture quiet, everyday moments from her life.

Her work primarily centers on companion animals. The dogs and cats she lives with, along with the stray cats she encounters during evening walks, occupy a significant place in her daily life as comforting companions. She paints gentle scenes shared with these animal friends—such as a dog resting on the sofa or a cat perched on the dining table—translating moments of closeness onto the canvas.

By layering thin applications of paint, Seo Anna creates a warm tonal palette and emotional atmosphere distinctive to her work. Through a witty and tender perspective on ordinary life, her paintings invite viewers to reflect on intimate relationships between humans and animals. In recent years, she has gained notable attention from younger collectors, establishing herself as a representative artist of the MZ generation.
