구조가 겹치며 형성되는 빈 공간은 현실 세계와 이상 세계를 연결하는 매개로 작용한다. 작가는 백토를 사용한 판 성형 기법으로 형태를 제작하고, 자연스러운 풍경의 색감을 구현하기 위해 색 화장토를 단계별로 분무해 채색한다. 점진적인 색의 변화와 선의 흐름은 바다가 지닌 고유한 시각적 분위기를 전달한다.

An Seo Hee is an artist who expresses the form of the sea through linear elements observed in expansive horizons and rolling waves. Grounded in vertical and horizontal structures, she develops organic curves to convey the shimmering movement and rhythm of the ocean.
The empty spaces created by overlapping structures function as a bridge between the real world and an ideal realm. Using white clay and slab-building techniques, she forms her works and applies colored slips in layered sprays to achieve the natural hues of the landscape. Gradual color transitions and flowing lines communicate the sea’s distinctive visual atmosphere.
An views the city we inhabit as the realm of reality, while perceiving the sea as an ideal world that offers spiritual purification and solace. Through her objects, she seeks to convey the intention that viewers may find mental comfort by contemplating the sea—an embodiment of the ideal—within their everyday reality.
