1990년 전남대학교 응용미술학과를 졸업한 라니킴은 현재까지 프로 아티스트로 활발히 활동하고 있으며, 개인전 <파스텔 첫 나들이>와 <꿈>, 그리고 서울 일러스트레이션 페어 참여를 통해 대중에게 그녀의 이름을 널리 알리고 있다.

그녀가 가장 사랑하는 조합은 ‘꽃과 토끼’로, 섬세하게 한 잎 한 잎 그린 꽃잎들은 그녀가 애정하는 꽃들의 꽃말과 감성을 담고 있다. 사람을 닮은 토끼는 그녀 자신과 모든 이들을 비유적으로 반영하며, 직접적인 자아 표현 없이도 그림에 편안하게 이입될 수 있는 따뜻한 중의성을 지닌다.

부드러운 파스텔 텍스처로 꽃들에 젖어 드는 매력을 발산하는 꽃토끼들은 2017 서울 일러스트레이션 페어의 ‘티켓 일러스트’로 선정되며 많은 애호가들의 사랑과 관심을 받았다.

Rani Kim, who graduated from the Department of Applied Arts at Chonnam National University in 1990, has been actively working as a professional artist. She has introduced her work to a wide audience through solo exhibitions such as <Pastel First Outing> and <Dream>, as well as by participating in the Seoul Illustration Fair.

Her most beloved motif is the combination of “flowers and rabbits.” Each delicately painted petal conveys the symbolic meanings and emotions of the flowers she cherishes. The human-like rabbits metaphorically reflect both the artist herself and everyone else, offering a warm ambiguity that allows viewers to naturally project themselves into the paintings without overt self-expression.

The flower rabbits, radiating a gentle charm through soft pastel textures, were selected as the official “ticket illustration” for the 2017 Seoul Illustration Fair, receiving widespread love and attention from many admirers.
