이종협은 한남대학교 미술대학과 동 대학원에서 판화를 전공한 작가로, 판화 매체의 가능성을 확장해 온 인물이다. 그는 척박한 국내 판화계의 발전을 위해 후학 양성을 목적으로 판화 공방을 열고 동호인들을 결성하는 등, 교육과 실천을 병행하며 판화 예술의 저변 확대에 헌신해왔다.

전통적인 판화 기법과 현대 미디어의 결합을 통해 독창적인 작업 세계를 구축한 그는, 전통과 현대를 아우르는 시도로 관객에게 깊은 감동을 전한다. 미니멀한 구성과 강렬한 색채 대비를 활용해 시각적 임팩트를 만들어내며, 인간의 내면과 사회적 이슈를 조명하는 데 주력한다.

이종협은 대전시립미술관장을 역임했으며, 한남대학교 조형미술과 겸임교수로도 활동했다. 또한 금강 자연미술 비엔날레의 총감독을 맡아 예술적 역량을 널리 선보였다. 개인 판화전은 대전 중구문화원, 비전갤러리, 일본 모노가타리 갤러리 등에서 여러 차례 개최되었고, 현대판화 위상전, 한·일 미술교류전, 한·중 판화전 등 다양한 단체전에 참여하며 판화 예술의 가능성을 지속적으로 확장해 나가고 있다.

Lee Jong Hyup is a printmaker who studied printmaking at Hannam University’s College of Fine Arts and its graduate school. Dedicated to the advancement of printmaking, he has actively contributed to the field by establishing print workshops to nurture emerging artists and forming communities of practitioners.

Through an innovative fusion of traditional printmaking techniques and contemporary media, Lee has developed a distinctive artistic language that bridges tradition and modernity. His works, characterized by minimal compositions and bold color contrasts, deliver strong visual impact while exploring the inner life of individuals and broader social issues.

Lee has served as the director of the Daejeon Museum of Art and as an adjunct professor in the Department of Fine Arts at Hannam University. As the artistic director of the Geumgang Nature Art Biennale, he further demonstrated his curatorial and artistic vision. He has held multiple solo print exhibitions at venues including the Jung-gu Cultural Center in Daejeon, Vision Gallery, and Monogatari Gallery in Japan, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as the Contemporary Print Status Exhibition, Korea–Japan Art Exchange Exhibition, and Korea–China Print Exhibition, continually expanding the horizons of contemporary print art.
