권복희는 홍익대학교 미술대학원에서 판화를 전공한 후, 다수의 개인전과 단체전에 참가하며 활발히 활동하고 있는 판화 작가이다. 그는 ‘헤이터 기법’을 현지에서 전수받아 다색판화의 창의적 기법을 개발하며, 초현실주의 오토마티즘을 판화로 표현하는 작품을 선보이고 있다.

그의 작품은 다색판화기법을 활용하여 판화의 한계를 넘어서는 창의적인 실험을 시도하고 있으며, 그동안 대한민국미술대전 판화 부분 특선(2015), 한국현대판화가협회 공모전 입선(2015), 대전광역시미술대전 판화 부분 특선(2014), 한국회화대상전 특선(2004) 등 수많은 상을 수상하였다.

최근에는 아쿠아틴트 기법을 활용하여 몽환적인 추상 이미지를 만들어내고 있다. 아쿠아틴트 기법은 서양에서 자주 사용되는 동판화 기법으로, 그의 실험정신과 감수성을 더해 전혀 새로운 결과물을 보여주고 있다.

Kwon Bok Hee, a printmaker who majored in printmaking at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Hongik University, has been actively involved in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He learned the ‘Heiter technique,’ a multicolor printing method, and has been applying the creativity of surrealistic automatism in his print works.

His works utilize the multicolor printmaking technique to push the boundaries of traditional printmaking, experimenting with innovative forms of expression. Over the years, he has received numerous awards, including Special Selection in the Printmaking section of the Korea Fine Art Exhibition (2015), an Honorable Mention at the Korean Modern Printmakers Association Competition (2015), Special Selection in the Printmaking section of the Daejeon Metropolitan Art Exhibition (2014), and Special Selection in the Korean Painting Award Exhibition (2004).

Recently, Kwon has been creating dreamlike abstract imagery using the aquatint technique. Aquatint, a form of intaglio printing that is more commonly used in Western printmaking, has allowed him to produce completely new and innovative results, merging his experimental spirit with his sensitivity to the medium.
