강석문 작가는 중앙대학교 예술대학 한국화학과 및 동 대학원을 졸업하고 독일 함부르크 국제 Summer 아카데미를 수료했다. 그는 다수의 개인전과 단체전에 참여했으며, 제18회 일본 국제선면전에서 우수상을 수상하였다. 한지 위에 먹과 색을 사용하여 깊은 동양화의 멋을 담은 작품을 구현하며, 삶 속에서 만나는 풀, 벌레, 나무 등 소소한 소재를 통해 따뜻한 감성과 진정성을 추구한다.

채색에는 분채를 사용하며, 깊고 투명한 표현을 위해 수십 차례 붓질을 반복한다. 종이가 견디지 못하기 때문에 한 번 칠할 때마다 물의 두께만큼 얇게 칠해야 한다. “풀들과 나무와 이야기하노라면 어느덧 자연과 하나가 된다”는 작가의 말처럼, 강석문은 자연과 함께하는 소소한 삶의 아름다움을 화폭에 담아낸다.

Kang Suk Moon graduated from the Department of Korean Painting at Chung-Ang University and completed graduate studies at the same institution, also attending the International Summer Academy in Hamburg, Germany. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and received the Excellence Award at the 18th Japan International Line Exhibition.

Using ink and color on traditional Korean paper (hanji), he creates works imbued with the depth and elegance of Eastern painting, capturing the warmth and sincerity of everyday life through simple subjects such as grass, insects, and trees. To achieve a deep yet translucent effect with pigments, he applies dozens of delicate brushstrokes, layering colors so thinly that the paper can withstand them. As he says, “When I converse with the grasses and trees, I become one with nature,” reflecting the serene beauty of life in harmony with the natural world.
