제이크 & 디노스 채프먼(Jake & Dinos Chapman)은 공동 작업으로 잘 알려진 영국의 시각예술가 듀오이다. 디노스 채프먼은 레이븐스본 미술대학에서 수학했으며(1980–83), 제이크 채프먼은 동 런던 대학 폴리테크닉에서 학업을 이어간 후 두 사람은 함께 왕립예술대학(Royal College of Art)에 등록했다. 이들은 초기 경력에서 예술가 길버트 앤 조지의 보조로도 활동했다.

초기 작업에서 83가지 장면의 고문과 육체 손상을 다룬 작품들은 프란시스 고야의 에칭 연작 <전쟁의 참상>을 연상시키며, 역사와 폭력의 반복에 대한 비판적 시선을 담고 있다. 제이크 채프먼은 『Metaphysics』(Creation Books, 2003)를 집필했으며 다수의 소논문과 미술 비평을 발표했다. 또한 채프먼 형제는 벡스(Beck’s Brewery) 맥주 라벨 디자인, 2013년 사치 갤러리에서 열린 <Art Wars> 전 참여 등 다양한 프로젝트를 통해 동시대 예술 담론을 확장해 왔다.

Jake and Dinos Chapman are British visual artists best known for their collaborative practice. Dinos Chapman studied at Ravensbourne College of Art (1980–83), while Jake Chapman attended East London Polytechnic before both enrolling at the Royal College of Art. Early in their careers, they also worked as assistants to the artist duo Gilbert & George.

Beginning their collaboration in 1991, the Chapman brothers gained prominence in the mid-1990s when their sculptural works were included in key YBA exhibitions such as <Brilliant!> and <Sensation>. They became particularly known for deliberately provocative works, including a series that appropriated Adolf Hitler’s watercolors, confronting viewers with unsettling themes of violence, ideology, and moral contradiction.

Their early works depicting eighty-three scenes of torture and bodily mutilation recall Francisco Goya’s etching series <The Disasters of War>, reflecting a critical engagement with history and the cyclical nature of human cruelty. Jake Chapman is also the author of *Metaphysics* (Creation Books, 2003) and has written numerous essays and art criticism. Beyond gallery contexts, the Chapman brothers have participated in diverse projects, from designing limited-edition Beck’s Brewery labels to staging performative interventions such as their participation in <Art Wars> at the Saatchi Gallery in 2013, curated by Ben Moore.
