한결 작가는 스스로를 ‘만드는 사람’이라 정의한다. 오토바이, 커피 머신, 가구, 오디오, 그릇과 수저에 이르기까지 그는 일상에 존재하는 거의 모든 사물을 손으로 만들어낸다. 소리에 민감한 그는 스피커와 관련해 앰프 제작 특허를 보유하고 있을 만큼, 기능과 감각을 동시에 탐구하는 제작자이다.

소목장인이었던 부친의 영향을 받아 열두 살 무렵부터 나무를 접해온 그는, 나무를 삶의 일부로 받아들이며 작업을 이어왔다. 한결 작가의 작품은 꼼꼼한 옻칠 과정을 거쳐 쉽게 손상되지 않는 내구성을 지니는 것이 특징이며, 다양한 식재료를 가리지 않고 담아낼 수 있는 넉넉함과 일상에 자연스럽게 스며드는 편안함을 갖추고 있다.

Han Gyeol defines himself as a “maker.” From motorcycles and coffee machines to furniture, audio equipment, tableware, and cutlery, he creates a wide range of objects that inhabit everyday life. Highly sensitive to sound, he has even obtained a patent for amplifier production related to speaker design, reflecting his deep engagement with both function and sensation.

Influenced by his father, a master traditional woodworker, Han began working with wood at the age of twelve, and it has since become an integral part of his life. His works are distinguished by meticulous lacquer finishes that ensure durability, allowing them to accommodate various ingredients without restriction while offering a sense of comfort and solidity that blends seamlessly into daily use.
