인간과 자연에 의해 점점 사라져가는 멸종 위기의 생물들에 대한 애잔함은 그의 작업 전반에 흐르는 정서이다. 작품 속 곰, 부엉이, 강아지 등의 동물들은 차분하고 평화로운 눈빛으로 관객을 응시하며, 섬세하고 부드럽게 표현된 털의 질감은 포근한 감각을 시각적으로 전달한다.

Diren Lee is an artist who expresses human emotions and narratives through animal figures. His work conveys a message of love—an invitation to stay, to remain together a little longer, addressed to those we wish to protect and never lose.

A sense of tenderness toward endangered animals disappearing due to human impact and natural forces runs throughout his practice. Bears, owls, dogs, and other animals in his paintings gaze calmly and peacefully at the viewer, while their delicately rendered fur textures evoke a visual sense of warmth and softness.

With soothing color palettes that offer psychological comfort, the animals in Diren Lee’s works appear not as solitary beings but as companions who gently care for one another, conveying messages of empathy and affection. A graduate of the Department of Textile Art at Hongik University, he gained widespread attention after appearing alongside his artworks in a Samsung Notebook 9 Pen advertising campaign. He has since remained active through multiple solo exhibitions and group shows such as *Museum in the Zoo*, *LOVE*, *Artist’s Gift – Chicken*, *Embracing Otaku*, *Joy, Anger, Sorrow, and Pleasure*, and *Coexistence*.
