크리스 로는 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 한국계 미국인 작가로 건축과 그래픽을 전공한 그의 작품에는 인쇄, 설치, 애니메이션, 글쓰기, 전통 회화 및 드로잉의 요소가 혼합되어 있다. 그는 비시각적 주제와 개념에 매료된 아티스트로 그의 프로젝트는 종종 보이는 것보다 느껴지는 개념을 탐구해 왔다.

그래픽 디자이너이자 아티스트인 그의 작품은 유동적이며, 공간에 유영하는 듯한 독특한 분위기를 지닌다. 영역 간 경계를 허물며 다양한 재료 위에 실크스크린을 실험 중이다. 시애틀에서 태어나 UC버클리에서 건축을, 로드아일랜드 스쿨 오브 디자인 RISD에서 그래픽 디자인을 전공했다.

이후 샌프란시스코, 함부르크 등에서 활동을 이어갔고, 서울대학교 등 다양한 기관에서 연구 경력을 쌓았으며 현재는 홍익대학교에서 학생들을 지도하며 왕성하게 활동 중이다. 그의 작품은 빅토리아 앤 앨버트 박물관, 데코라티프 미술관, 서울대학교 미술관, 홍익대학교 미술관, 플랫폼 엘, 현대미술관, 국립한글박물관의 영구 소장품으로 소장되어 있다.

Chris Ro is a Korean American artist based in Seoul. With academic training in architecture and graphic design, his practice incorporates elements of printmaking, installation, animation, writing, traditional painting, and drawing. Fascinated by non-visual subjects and conceptual ideas, his projects often explore what is felt rather than what is immediately seen.

As both a graphic designer and an artist, his work is fluid in nature, carrying a distinctive atmosphere that seems to drift and float through space. By dissolving boundaries between disciplines, he actively experiments with silkscreen printing across a wide range of materials. Born in Seattle, he studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, and graphic design at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). He later worked in cities such as San Francisco and Hamburg, and built a research-based practice through affiliations with various institutions, including Seoul National University.

Currently, he teaches at Hongik University while maintaining an active artistic practice. His works are held in the permanent collections of major institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Seoul National University Museum of Art, the Hongik University Museum of Art, Platform-L Contemporary Art Center, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the National Hangeul Museum.
