장경희는 경기미술대전 초대작가로 다수의 개인전과 단체전, 아트페어에 참여하며 활발하게 활동하고 있는 작가이다. 그는 “형태의 단순화, 극적인 구도, 간결한 구성을 통해 현실에는 없지만 어디선가 본 듯한 풍경을 문학적인 감성으로 풀어내려는 고민이 내 작업의 모태”라고 말한다. 단순화된 화면과 두터운 마티에르를 통해 새로운 풍경을 만들어 낸다.

평화의 색인 초록을 능숙하게 사용하는 작가로 알려진 그는 마을과 작은 숲이 어우러진 풍경, 달, 오솔길, 메밀밭 등의 소재를 자신만의 화풍으로 표현한다. 거친 바탕 위에 잘게 부스러지는 듯한 점묘법으로 색을 쌓아 올린 작품들은 보는 이에게 시간의 깊이와 문학적인 정서를 전한다.

오마학술상(한서대, 2005), 홍익대학교 총장상(1987), 올해의 예술상 전통예술부문 대상(2005) 등을 수상했으며, 현재까지도 적극적인 작품 활동을 이어가고 있다.

Chang Kyeonghui is an invited artist of the Gyeonggi Art Exhibition and remains actively engaged through numerous solo exhibitions, group shows, and art fairs. She explains that her practice originates from a desire to translate into literary sensibility landscapes that do not exist in reality yet feel strangely familiar, achieved through simplified forms, dramatic compositions, and concise structures. Through pared-down imagery and thick materiality, she creates new kinds of landscapes.

Well known for her adept use of green—the color of peace—she depicts villages interwoven with small forests, the moon, winding paths, and buckwheat fields in her own distinctive style. By layering colors with a pointillist technique that appears to crumble finely over a rough ground, her works offer viewers a sense of temporal depth and poetic atmosphere.

She has received several honors, including the OMA Academic Award (Hanseo University, 2005), the President’s Award of Hongik University (1987), and the Grand Prize in the Traditional Arts category of the Artist of the Year Award (2005). She continues to pursue her artistic practice with sustained energy and commitment.
