안진의는 오랜 시간 동안 꽃을 주제로 작업해 온 작가로, 그의 작품은 깊은 감성과 독창성이 돋보인다. 주된 재료로는 석채, 색한지, 분채, 아크릴 등을 사용하여 이질적인 요소들에 질서를 부여하고 조화로운 구성을 이끌어낸다. 석채는 화려함을 지니며 화면에 견고하게 자리 잡아, 그의 꽃은 특별한 구체성을 지닌다.

꽃을 세심히 들여다보면 자연이 뭉쳐지고 흩어지는 모습이 떠오르며, 오묘한 붓 터치로 탄생한 형상들은 별들의 군집이나 우주의 흔적을 연상시킨다. 안진의는 ‘마음 꽃’ 연작과 다양한 꽃 그림을 통해 언어적 서정성과 내적인 운율을 발현하며, 추억과 그리움, 바람 등 인간 내면의 소중한 감정을 독특한 화법으로 풀어낸다.

그의 작품은 향기가 묻어날 것 같은 생동감과 음악이 흐르는 듯한 다채로운 식물 그림으로, 우리가 공감하고 쉬어 갈 수 있는 서정의 공간을 제공한다. 그는 홍익대학교 동양화과를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 색채 전공으로 미술학 박사학위를 받았으며, 현재 홍익대학교 동양화과 교수로 재직 중이다. 그의 작품은 국립현대미술관, 광주시립미술관, 서울지방경찰청, 성곡미술관, 일본 센다이 총영사관, 청와대 등 여러 기관에 소장되어 있으며, 다수의 개인전과 200여 회의 단체전을 통해 활발한 작품 활동을 이어오고 있다.

Ahn Jin E is an artist who has long worked with flowers as her central subject, and her works are distinguished by deep sensitivity and originality. She employs materials such as mineral pigments, colored hanji paper, powdered pigments, and acrylics, bringing order to heterogeneous elements and guiding them into harmonious compositions. Mineral pigments, with their inherent brilliance and solidity, give her flowers a distinctive sense of physical presence.

When closely observed, her flowers evoke images of nature gathering and dispersing, while the subtle forms born from delicate brushstrokes recall clusters of stars or traces of the universe. Through her “Mind Flower” series and various floral paintings, Ahn Jin E expresses lyrical language and inner rhythm, unfolding cherished human emotions such as memory, longing, and hope through her unique painterly approach.

Her works, vibrant enough to seem imbued with fragrance and filled with richly varied botanical imagery that feels almost musical, offer a lyrical space where viewers can empathize and find repose. She graduated from the Department of Oriental Painting at Hongik University and earned a PhD in Fine Arts with a specialization in color from the same institution. She is currently a professor in the Department of Oriental Painting at Hongik University. Her works are held in the collections of institutions including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Gwangju Museum of Art, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, Sungkok Art Museum, the Consulate General of Japan in Sendai, and Cheong Wa Dae, and she continues an active artistic practice through numerous solo exhibitions and over 200 group exhibitions.
